The CW scored a major hit four years ago with the introduction of its drama series, “All American!” The series showcased the life of rising football star, Spencer James, as he juggles achieving his dream of becoming a professional football player while navigating life and love in the contrasting worlds of Beverly Hills, and his own neighborhood in South Central Los Angeles.
“All American” became so popular with viewers that The CW has opted to expand upon the series into a spinoff, “All American: Homecoming!”
The series centers on Simone Hicks (Geffri Maya), girlfriend/ex-wife of Jordan Baker (Michael Evans Behling), and tennis star who opts to attend an HBCU in Atlanta. Simone is not the only member of the of the original All American cast to transfer over to the spinoff series as she is joined by Mitchell Edwards, reprising his role of “Cam Watkins” in the highly anticipates series.
Cam, as you many of you already know, is one of Spencer’s greatest rivals in the original series with a knack for “telling it like it is” in the most tactless way. Mitchell, unlike his character, is well spoken, thoughtful, and above all else living in the moment. In a recent interview with Kontrol Magazine’s Michael Jonvier (Executive Editor, and the host of the YouTube series, “101 with Michael Jonvier”) Mitchell gave us more insight into Cam and the growth we can expect to see from his character in All American: Homecoming. He also dropped a few details on his favorite character, Valentine’s Day plans, and revealed a little known talent!

We are glad to see Mitchell reprising his role and joining All American: Homecoming. There, his character will truly have the space to become even more layered, likable, and relatable. Mitchell, himself, however possesses the drive, look, and skillset to be a “G.O.A.T.” with his acting, singing, and athletic skills.
Be sure you catch the series premiere of The CW’s All American Homecoming, Monday, February 21, at 9 PM EST/8 PM CST immediately after the midseason premiere of All American. Happy viewing, and tell us what you think of the series in the comments’ section below!
